Lee Poe was presented a clock for his two years of service as HOBO President.
Lee Poe officiated as outgoing president of HOBO at the Annual Meeting held at the Alabama Power facility in Clanton. Scholarship winner Brandon Merced thanked HOBO for providing graduating seniors with the opportunity to compete for the scholarship funded by HOBO.
Jacob Sims, Park Ranger at Higgins Ferry, and Gerald Arrington, Chilton County Park Manager, were the first guest speakers and spoke about the improvements being made to the docks and campground areas at Higgins Ferry Park and efforts to improve bass and crappie fishing. They also thanked Louie Bentley for his hard work keeping Higgins Ferry in good shape for everyone's enjoyment.
Brian Smith, Matt Jenkins and Joe Small from the Alabama Forestry Commission presented information about fire safety and the commission's Firewise Program. Individuals and communities may contact the Alabama Forestry Commission for a free fire risk assessment.
HOBO officers for 2015 were elected and they include the following: President - Steve Miles; 1st Vice-president - Scott Phillips; 2nd Vice-president - Rebecca Beaty; Secretary - Patsy Wideman; Website Coordinator - Marie Greene; and new director - Melissa Nannini (HOBO calendar). Joan Hargrove is HOBO's new Scrapbook Coordinator.

The 2015 HOBO calendar were presented for sale at the Annual Meeting. The calendars are now available for $12 each. The calendars include photos taken by HOBO members of scenes around Lake Mitchell.
The 2015 proposed budget was unanimously approved.
Area 11 will be divided into Area 11A on the Chilton County side represented by Stan Holt and Area 11B on the Coosa Countyside of the lake. HOBO is seeking someone to serve as area rep for the new Area 11B.
The HOBO data base reflects 750 households on Lake Mitchell. With 400 HOBO members, we have over 50% participation in our lake association.
